Happy April!

Hello and good morning welcome to Its A Mom Life at classyclassicsbykandis.blogspot.com. all I can start with is I'm happy to be starting a new month! New month, new goals right? This month I am so flustered with everything, I really don't know anything. It's starting to bug me, my house is messy, the laundry is piling up.... not to mention we have to look at my washer as I think the hose is clocked! '😭 The baby's bren fussy, list goes on! It seems as tho I'm farther then I was and definitely not as organized as my mind thought. However new month new thoughts "out with the old, in with the new" this is what I am going with this month? What do you think? What's your quote for the month or even the week? I try to have a nice saying to lead me through my days. So for right now with the last day of March the roller coaster of a month, I decided to look at the bright side and work in my planner. Start this month as great as I can. Getting organize...

Well That SUCKS!

Hello and good morning welcome to Its A Mom Life at classyclassicsbykandis.blogspot.com. Today is Friday, and actually Friday! I would like to first apologize for my flakiness this week! I had realized I was a little distracted when I posted Thursday's blog on Wednesday. I thought it was Thursday for some reason, even tho I knew it wasn't as the kids have activities on Wednesdays. So for this blog it will be a longer read as I need to explain and talk about some issues that has occurred in the last week. I will also point out I am starting to write this blog Wednesday, and it is posted Friday. I thought I should take a couple days to focus on this blog and explain some situations. So where to start, I think we shall start with ummm how about where is my brain these days. We all get distracted from time to time, as our days change and our season turn. How ever my week has been hit harder then normal. I am wrapping my brain power in the family right now. Yes, this is somethin...

Red Tenderloin!!

Hello and good morning how are we doing this Thursday! Welcome to Its A Mom Life  where I aim to have mothers come together to tackle every day situation that a mother handles. Today I would like to talk about a fantastic recipe for cooking a pork tenderloin. This is an easy recipe to do a big or small tenderloin. You can cook it in the oven or on the bbq! I find a great way to save is to buy whole tenderloin, so a good go to sauce is wonderful. This recipe calls for 2 lb tenderloin. If your ready grab a paper and pen as you will want to write this one down, and give it a try! What you will need is 2 lb tenderloin  1/4 cup soya sauce  2 tablespoons sugar  1/4 teaspoon of each cinnamon, cloves and garlic powder.  Mix together and marinate meat for at least 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 425° cook for 15 minutes uncovered. Reduce heat to 350° cover and cook for another 30 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes, slice diagonally. This is paired with any side a...

Make The Room!

Image
Have you ever wished you had more space? Wish you had a shrink machine or an extra closet? Has a mother of 4 and a small house I hear ya on that! It seems the things that we need are the things that are the bulkiest and take up so much room! I here to share a hack for one of those things. So if your ready to make just a little more room let's do this. Let's start with good morning and welcome to Its A Mom Life. Please hit that follow button to join me here on It's A Mom Life. Today I would like to share a hack for those bulky sheets. They take up so much room, and when you need a set something is missing, usually a pillow case lol. My hack that I want to show you has helped me out, and I'm sure it will help you too! How to make room is to take both sheets and fold them as you normally would. Now fold one of the pillow cases and put all three things in a pile. Now take the three items and place them inside the last pillow case. This is all there is to it, and you w...

Image
Good morning everyone and welcome to Its A Mom Life! If you are new here to Its A Mom Life, make sure you hit that follow button for all the blogs here! I am all about mom life and every thing that it comes with. As you can tell by the title this blog is all about homemade laundry detergent! This is something that I have been making for a while now, and when I run out I always kringe on the store bought stuff now. I of coarse had found this one Pinterest, I will leave the link below for you! It is easy and lasts a long time. It will last me between 6 to 10 months. In have never but wanted to take note of how long it lasts. I like that I can find the items easy and for the most part it is just mix together and carry on. I use a big tub for this as it is a powder. The most work is to grate the laundry bars with this I just use my cheese grater. Yes just my kitchen grater as I find it fine to use on soap. So let's talk about what you need. You need: 2-3 bars or Laundry soap I u...

Thank Golly For Meal Prepping!

Image
Hello and good Sunday morning welcome to Its A Mom Life. For this blog I wanted to take you along with me as I am going to and have been prepping meals for the week. We had a crazy week as my husband had an accident! With the craziness of life anyways followed by everything else, follow up on another blog. However with everything thrown at us, suppers and life as been not top priority, however still a nessesety. I had got groceries at least, and now I'm needing to prep stuff so I don't need to worry as much on that aspect. So where to start? I need to look at what I have, the fridge to start as i need to there, I have meat to separate and bag up, so it can get into the freezer so it won't go bad. I had bought 2 pork tenderloins so I can get a bit there. So let's cut those up first, and get the pack of chicken cooked up. With the pork there will be pork chunks for a stew or stir fry, then pork chops and a a meal with a half of the loin. Stay tuned for Thursday's ...

Cabin Fever Is A Real Thing!

Good morning, happy Friday and welcome to Its A Mom Life! What a relief that spring is here! On the calender and in the weather... for now haha! It is always long winters here, by the time spring hits and your outside more it doesn't seem that bad. But, then finally all the snow melts and things start growing, in a couple more  months, then this is when I tend to say boy that was a long winter lol! What about who? When does it all come together for you? I have noticed tho it's hard to enjoy it all with such a little one still. The baby still needs to be in the snuggly outside, and can be hard with how much snow there is, and no walks until everything is softer. Those rutts are baaaaad lol. So winter as felt long earlier this year, as I want outside but have to line up a lot to get out there. Back to the point, I noticed it earlier this year, and so has my mood! I'm getting annoyed faster, I'm very snappy and just not as bubbly for as long lol. So I am a firm belie...

Can't Go Wrong With Vanilla!

Image
Hello and welcome I'm Kandis thank you for checking out the blog here on It's A Mom Life! It's a recipe day, and for this Thursday's recipe let's make a vanilla cake!❤ It was recently my birthday, another year older, and a little wiser. This year was harder, as with the new baby I'm a breastfeeding mother, with this I have always had to follow a strict diet, as my babies were gassy on a lot of food! Did you have this problem? I would love to know if I'm not the only one that had to really watch what I ate, or I was in for a gassy baby and some long days! With this said I really wanted a cake for my birthday I turned 31😐 and deserves a cake haha. So thinking the safest thing to try would be vanilla. What about you yeah or nah on vanilla? Let me know in the comments down below. So after school, and outside fun the kids and I whipped up a cake. Sorry I didn't get pictures of us doing this together as I was a little tied up, and I am still learing an...

Doing More At Once!

Hello and good morning welcome back! It's a great day for a mom talk I think, with the beautiful Wednesday, the first day of spring! 🌼🌲 With the days counting down now for when we can bust out of the house, I find my self getting very ancy about how I would like the house to be. Very little other the basics get done in the house for the few months, that we have outside. So how I leave the house can be important. With this I am also getting panicky about how to do it without wearing myself completely out. With having 4 kids ages 10,8,2 and 2 months, I do have to be mindful on my energy levels still. Let's talk about how I'm planning on getting it all done, this also goes with the March decluttering challenge. I'm going to finish the last couple spots that I need to organized and declutter, stay tuned for up coming blogs about that. 😉 I'm then going to categorize my tasks that I would like to get done! What needs sorting what needs deep cleaning still, what...

Good moring and welcome back to Its A Mom Life, if your new make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button for all the upcoming blogs. Grab a coffee, and join in the topics, I have a variety of topics that get covered Here on It's A Mom Life. So if your ready let's do this! It's Thursday which is a new recipe! How to make icing sugar. I find it costs so much to make icing sometimes. The amount of icing sugar that is used and for the fact it's like $5 bucks a bag... or something lol, it can add up really quick! I find I run out when I need it! So one day push came to shove and I had to make some! Where I always to when I need to find something trusty Pinterest! I will leave the link below however this one is so straight forward and easy, the only thing I will say that I didn't like is that it is more gritty, as it is hard to grind down enough. All you need is 1 cup of sugar to 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. This will make 1 cup of icing sugar. All you do is p...

Keep It Going!

Image
Good morning everyone and welcome back to Its A Mom Life! This Monday is a little different as it's not a new challange as with March challenge it's to just keep moving thought the house week by week, room or category by room or category. This is also  not really a money saving tip per say either. Any how it's a good one as it has a little of both in it. I thought I would show you how my week has went with this challenge and what I have been up to! In this blog I will share my two bigger tasks that got done. First let's talk about that filing cabinet.😑This is a task that if kept up will not take  long to do. I have been trying very hard the last couple years not to keep it all, so I came to the compromise with my self is to just keep the year before. With my bills anyways yes there is stuff that needs to be kept longer. So what I try to do is keep one envelope for each bill, then as I pay then they can go I to the proper folder and envelope into the cabinet. This ...

Good morning and welcome to Its A Mom Life! If your new go ahead and hit that follow button to join the fun here, if your not welcome back for todays blog! It's a organizing blog, and with that I have some quick inexpensive ways to show you, how I organized my bathroom! I needed a topic of this Sunday and with decluttering the house, i started in the bathroom last week, and thought I would share how there is 6 peoples stuff in here! We have a very small bathroom in the house, and for years now I have been finding ways to fit everything in here, especially with a growing family. So, what better organizing topic then that! There is always so much stuff that for some reason is located in the bathroom! What about your bathroom , wish you had a little extra room? These ideas are not to be permanent, but to tie me over, and it has! Some of the things have been there for years now, and some are new! So first let begin with sorry about the scrappy pictures there is actually not enoug...

Slow Down!

Image
Good morning everyone and welcome to Its A Mom Life. Happy Friday❤ How good is it that first day of spring is coming very quick! Late nights, fires, bbq season! There is also garden season and outside cleaning. It seems no matter what season it is, there is always a list! Always doing something, even when we are not at home out camping or just at the lake there is still always something that has to be done. A thing you should know about me is that I don't stop! It can be hard to get myself to slow down and stop to smell those roses. With all of this said this mom talk I thought would be perfect timing to say just slow down. Stop and enjoy what there is, the kid's giggling (when not fighting), blowing bubbles, sunny walks, lazy tanning times. I need to slow down and enjoy it. What about you? Do you go a little to hard sometimes and forget to enjoy the summer, or just the day? This can be a hard task when it comes to having a family also. I am here to say and to tell my self...

Smells Good In Here!

Image
Hello and good morning. Welcome to Its A Mom Life, if your new make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button for all the fun. What A great Tuesday, the weather is warming up and my window is opening more and more. That fresh air is wonderful, puts a little hope into my day. Do you look forward to opening that window? There is nothing better then a fresh smelling house, unfortunately with kids the house sometimes has kid smells in it lol. Air freshener can smell very thick, and it can add up with how much you need to use! Then you have all the added chemicals that are put into that bottle. There is an awesome diy recipe for homemade fabreeze that I would love to share! I have been using this kind for a long time now, it's quick and easy to make, and is much cheaper. I will share the link that I had originally followed, mine is different now. As for how I make mine all you will need is : an empty spray bottle (I have a very old needing to be replaced old fabreeze bottle)...

Where To Start!

Image
Hello welcome back to Its A Mom Life, if you are knew make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button to never miss any of the fun here on the blog. Last week we started a new house decluttering challange, and the problem that I have is not knowing where to start! This challange I am not going necessarily room by room, but more by category. I tend to bounce around. This depends what kids are up, or around as the little one can't be around some tasks. This week I focused more on my bathroom, and my new arts and craft drawer. With those I did take time to clean some corners or containers out. My bathroom however is getting deep cleaned Monday, so today. I'm moving stuff, so the hubby can finish a shelf, so I will deep clean then as it's my bathroom cleaning day! So as you can tell I'm bouncing, as I put something in its home or new home, or gathering so it can get a new home. With this I keep saying little be little, as many smaller tasks are getting done vs big tas...

Different Spot Different Use!

Image
Well good morning happy Sunday, and welcome to Its A Mom Life, if your new make sure you go ahead and hit that follow button to never miss out on all the fun here on the blog! It's a good day for a blog as it is one of my favorite topics! PLANNING AND ORGANIZING! I just get a thrill out of trying new ways to stay organized, with summer on it's way.... I hope to get what I can done in the house as I am outside as much as I can be in the short summer months here in Saskatchewan. As part of the March challenge it was to organize the house room to room or category by category. Since for years things got shifted so much from here to there, I am doing a little of both ways. Something I wanted to share is how just by relocating something it can be a new thing! What do I mean? Let me tell you! I lack storage in my house, and as you mammas know storage is a must with a growing family, with all the hand me downs that get saved for the next kid it's easy to run out of space! My so...

It Was Not Like That Before!

Hello! Good morning and welcome to Its A Mom Life, happy Friday. I'm always happy when Friday rolls around, it's the weekend time. Kids don't have to be up for school, movie night and I can have an extra cup of coffee before starting breakfast and morning routines. However with that said I live in Saskatchewan and it's still winter, for another like 12 days then it's spring (according to the calender)!! With it being cold and snowy out it makes it hard to have the kid's go and do stuff. This is especially with the 2 younger ones being 2 months old and 2 years. Winters get hard when we are stuck in the house for so long. My kids still go out in the winter don't get me wrong however it gets hard. My son is always ready to go out did where as my daughter you have to make her at times. Do you remember no matter what being outside each day? Whether it was just walking to and from school,or meeting up with your friends somewhere? It's different these days! ...

Oh My Waffles!

Image
Hello and welcome to Its A Mom Life. Happy Thursday which means it's a recipe blog! A good day for one I think with the weekend coming up! This recipe is for Waffles, they are super yummy I might point out. We usually try to aim for waffles or pancakes on Saturday morning, as this usually leans towards waffles tho. Do you have a go to Sautday morning breakfast in your house? These are easy to make and the batter can be prepped the night before and stored in the fridge! For this yummy waffle batter you will need: 1 1/2 cup flour 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup of butter (melted) 1 1/2 cups buttermilk 1 egg In a bowl combine flour, baking soda and powder then mix the liquids in the milk, butter and eggs slightly beaten mix with the flour mix. Mix until combined it may be lumpy. I find a wisk works well for getting it mixed good. Let the batter sit for about 5 minutes Heat your waffle iron, I usually let mine what up for 5 minutes which is...

Homemade Make Up Remover Wipes

Image
Hello and good morning, happy Tuesday. Great day for an awesome day for another diy product. One I think you're really going to enjoy! As I am in love with this one! Isn't it crazy how much everything costs these days? I am always shocked when I walk into a store to grab something and then find myself standing there for what feels like forever trying to decide whether I really need that item now or not, after seeing the price tag on it! I find that materialistic items can be the worst! Do you agree? Cosmetics and feel good products are insane! After spending I don't know how much on makeup and face care, I knew there had to be a better way. So hopping on Pinterest where I go for almost everything haha I decided to try makeup remover as I enjoy having the wipes for vs the bottle of liqiud, but not wanting to spend the money they wanted, I gave it a try! I will say this, I am not going back! These wipes cost very little, are so easy to make and work fantastic. It can even...

March Find The Gold!

Hello and welcome to Its A Mom Life. Its a new month, and almost spring. Time for a new challange. This challenge is a little like a lady that I follow Cass from clutterbug, she has a hug your home challenge that I will leave a link for down below. Go ahead and check her out for lots of organizing motivation. However for this blog I would like to start a new March challenge. So here we go. To find the gold, you must find the pot! To find the pot, you must find the rainbow! To find the rainbow you must look. Sounds a bit like decluttering the house. Sounds like my house anyways. As 2019 is here, I had my last baby, it is time to find space in my little house. With March here ad the weather warming up in Saskatchewan, I thought what a good time to get some stuff gone through and out of the house! So, my challenge is to pick one or two rooms a week and clean and declutter. I am aiming for 2 rooms as I already kinda started this challenge. I am excited about this challenge as I am no...

Hello In There!

Image
Hello and good morning welcome to Its A Mom Life, it's Sunday fun day! What better day to talk about organizing and what better thing to start organizing before spring then the freezer! 😨 Do you know what is in the back,or the very bottom of that ice box? How often do you get into it? Do you make it to the bottom, or the back? It can be a scary thing in that dark space! There is a lot of time I have no clue what, or how much I have in there. It can get frustrating when it comes to the months that I am trying to stretch my groceries. The months like this is when on love my freezer inventory, however you must keep up on it, which can be hard when you are in and out of it daily. With that it can be nice to have it organized to be able to see everything and/or have it categorized so you can find stuff easier! With that said for this organizing blog I would like to share some easy inexpensive ways to keep it a little more organized! The bins used are all from the dollar tree! So if...

But... Everyone Else Has One!!

Image
Good morning, welcome to Its A Mom Life if you're new. Welcome back if you're a follower. It's Friday which means it's time for another mom talk! This mom talk is about kids and technology! I want to know do your kids have cell phone's or tablets? How old were they when they got it? What kind do you start with? How many divices do they need? Do they pay you, how do they pay for it and the bill? I ask these questions because my kid's keep asking for a phone, or some sort of divice as there is so much out there! So let's start with what to get them! There is so much out there and kids want it all. My 2 older kid's ask the most for a phone, as I would lean more on a better tablet game device. A phone I need to monitor calls, texting and data. A different game unit I don't. There is still the matter of paying for the games tho! Then there is still the matter of monthly payments, for a phone anyways, the other would be different perhaps. So, I ask th...
